Broccoli Slaw II (P, TNT)
Source: Adapted from a recipe in "Pasta," by M.A.D.D.
Serves: About 6

1 3-ounce package ramen noodles, Oriental flavored
1 16-ounce package broccoli slaw mix
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/4 cup sunflower seeds, shelled
6 tbsp. sugar
9 tbsp. oil
3 tbsp. red wine vinegar

Remove the seasoning packet from ramen noodles and set aside for use in the dressing.

Break the ramen noodles into pieces and mix with the broccoli slaw mix, almonds, and sunflower seeds.

In a small saucepan, combine sugar, oil, vinegar, and the seasoning packet from the ramen noodles. Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture simmers. Pour dressing over the broccoli mixture and toss until well mixed. Chill.

Poster's Notes:
Recently someone asked for a broccoli slaw recipe. This recipe is based on a recipe in a cookbook about pasta put out years ago by Mothers Against Drunk Driving. I made some changes in the amounts of the dressing ingredients. Also, I sometimes use part red wine vinegar and part regular rice vinegar for the total amount of vinegar.
