Beans, Baked I (M/P, TNT)

Serves: 2 to 3 people

1 can vegetarian baked beans
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
1 tbsp. ketchup or chili sauce
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1 frankfurter (optional) cut in chunks

Mix all the ingredients together and bake in the oven for about 40 minutes. For a crockpot, set on low for 4 to 6 hours or on high for about 2 hours.

Poster's Notes:
This comes from my Mother, who, after years of making her own baked beans, found this jazzing up of Heinz vegetarian baked beans to be close to her long, soak and bake recipe. Although it calls for frankfurters, you can just eliminate them for a plain bean dish or try some vegetarian franks.

This recipe, which I give for one, can be multiplied as much as you want. The most I ever made was for a large graduate student party and I used 11 cans of beans.
