Chicken, Apple-Honey Glazed (M, KLP, TNT)
Source: Sunset Magazine, July 1999
Serves: 8-10

8-10 (4-1/2 lbs.) chicken legs/thighs
2 cups apple juice
3 cloves garlic, peeled, pressed or minced
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 cup honey

In a gallon bag combine chicken, juice, garlic, and pepper. Seal bag, set in a bowl and chill at least 4 hours or up to 1 day, turning occasionally.

Lift from marinade. Barbecue, basting with marinade until meat is no longer pink. Brush with honey. Cook turning as needed 3-4 minutes longer.

Poster's Notes:
I would add some ginger and nutmeg to the apple juice (ala Jennie Grossinger) and bake the chicken 45-60 minutes. Jenny calls for 1/2 tsp. ginger for 5 lbs. of chicken. I guess the nutmeg was Aunt Jeanne's addition--start with less than 1/4 tsp--just sprinkle a bit on.
