Ice Cream:
1 quart vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup marble or plain halvah in 1/4" cubes (with pistachio nuts if possible which can usually be found in Persian stores), or add a few chopped pistachio nuts to supermarket or Israeli market halvah
Chocolate Sauce:
8 oz. semisweet chocolate, chopped
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 cup hot water
1 teaspoon vanilla
Make Ice Cream:
Soften the vanilla ice cream enough to mix in the halvah. Freeze in covered container overnight. Serve with the chocolate sauce.
Make Chocolate Sauce:
Melt the chocolate. Add the butter and stir until melted. Add the hot water and vanilla.
