Hamantaschen, w/Prune Filling III (P, TNT)
Source: My grandmother
Yield: 3 dozen

Dough:
3 eggs
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 stick margarine
3 cups of flour
1 cup sugar

Filling:
2 lbs. prunes
1 whole orange (yes with peel)
1 lb. raisins
1 lb. shelled nuts
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon jam

Mix eggs, margarine, and sugar. Add flour and baking powder and knead.

Rinse prunes and raisins and boil together for 5 minutes.

Combine all filling ingredients in a food processor until smooth. It usually has to be done in batches.

Roll out dough (we like ours thin) and use a glass or cookie cutter to make round shapes. Add a little filling and pinch corners. Make egg wash to spread on each hamantasch and bake at 350°F for 1/2 hour.

Poster's Notes:
I could not let Purim come and go without sharing my grandmother's hamantaschen recipe. All of her grandchildren wanted the recipe, but she never had it written down. So one year I spent the day her with while she baked and wrote it all down. What a great way to remember our Bubbie.
