Hamantaschen, Chocolate Orange (D/P, TNT)
Source: Jewish Holiday Style
Yield: 30

2 sticks unsalted butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 egg yolks
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
2-1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. grated orange zest
1/3 cup heavy cream
8 oz. chopped semi-sweet chocolate

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat until smooth.

Sift together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Slowly add to the butter mixture and mix until combined. Add the orange zest.

Shape dough into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate overnight.

In a small saucepan, heat cream until boiling. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate. Keep stirring until smooth. Refrigerate until stiff.

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Roll dough to 1/8" thickness and cut into 3" circles. Place 1 teaspoon of chocolate filling in the center of each circle. Brush edges with water and bring dough together on three sides to form a triangle.

Place each on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.
