Chocolate Crackles (P, TNT)
Source: The wrapper on a Copha packet
Serves: 24

250g (9 ounces) solidified coconut oil
4 cups of puffed rice cereal
1 cup icing sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 cup desiccated coconut

Melt coconut oil in a saucepan over a low heat or in a microwave oven.

Mix dried ingredients together. Mix with the melted coconut oil until well combined.

Spoon mixture evenly into 24 paper patty containers. Set in the refrigerator.

If you can't get coconut oil: Melt a 12-ounce bag of chocolate chips in a double boiler or microwave to melt it. Add 5 cups of rice crispies to melted chocolate, and stir to blend. Scoop out into mini muffin cups. Let harden.

Poster's Notes:
Whether or not this is a typical Australian "treat," I don't know, but I made these for my children's birthday parties for many, many years. They are also popular at school fetes. We call them chocolate crackles.
