Marble Cake, Chocolate I (D, TNT)

Yield: Makes three 4"x8" pans

1/2 pound butter
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla flavor
2 tsp. almond flavor
4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
8 ounces sour cream
5 1-ounce squares unsweetened chocolate

Grease three 4"x8" pans. Preheat oven to 350°F.

Mix butter and sugar. Mix in eggs, vanilla and almond flavoring.

Add baking soda and baking powder to flour. Add flour to above mixture, alternating with the sour cream to mixture. End with flour. Pour into prepared pans. Set aside.

Melt chocolate squares in microwave oven or on top of double boiler. Pour onto top of cakes and swirl in with a knife, to make a marbled pattern.

Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes (check with a toothpick at 35 minutes).
