Meatballs, Sweet and Sour for a Crowd (M, TNT)
Source: My mother
Serves: 20

5 pounds ground beef, ground veal or ground turkey
2-pound jar spaghetti sauce with mushrooms
5 eggs
1 tsp. salt
Onion flakes
1 can tomato paste
1/2 cup sugar
Sour salt, to taste

Put a large pot of water on stove and bring to a boil while making meatballs.

Make meatballs using the eggs, salt, and onion flakes.

Shape; drop one at a time, gently, into boiling water, and boil for 30 minutes. They will rise to the top of the water.

Spill out about 2/3 of the water; add sauce, paste and seasonings.

Simmer about 1 hour or longer. Correct seasonings to make sweet and sour.

Poster's Notes:
Tastes even better the next day; freezes well.

For 10 pounds meat, use 8 eggs.

I have been reading all the recipes for meatballs and have not seen one similar to my Blessed Mother. These are TNT, stay well and my family loves them.
